I'm 'in the dark' about people hearing my music and also you could say 'in the dark' as far as what I feel people are willing to listen to. The title track is called The Beautiful Traverse, talking about wanting to be heard and asking why people aren't paying attention to hip hop with more substance versus the cliche, same old stuff. My title track, for the most part, was written as if I was Elegee. At the time, he was trying to get someone's attention locally and was getting irritated that the guy wasn't responding at all to what him and Dash were doing musically. The Beautiful Traverse was slightly inspired by Talib's album name The Beautiful Struggle and its basically saying I'm on a journey to be heard and I will be heard. To traverse is to pass over or get over an obstacle and being heard would be that obstacle. Harder to get people's attention when most people wanna hear is club shit, which is fine, but its silly that the more impressive (in my opinion), thinking artists kinda get tossed to the side.

The album cover, you could say, signifies me being in the darkness I mentioned. You can see that the image starts to get brighter to the right. I will be in that light once I release this EP. I'm not as shy about my music as once was and I know a pretty good amount of people that are interested in hearing my 16 minute journey.

He released a mixtape called Lemonade Stand in '09, but will soon finally release another project: The Beautiful Traverse ... more
